Barbara Ungar, NBCT is a Library Media Teacher of students Kdg. – 4th grade at Central Elementary School in Wilmette, IL. She has 8 years of classroom experience in grades 2 and 5 and 19 years of experience as a Library Media Teacher. Barbara has been working with Independent Investigation Method (IIM) since 2004 and became a regional trainer in 2006. Her article, “Revising Research” was featured in School Library Monthly, Volume XXVII, Number 8, April 2010. Using IIM, her third grade project entitled “A Day in the Neighborhood” won the inaugural ALA Sara Jaffarian Award for Exemplary Humanities Programming in 2007. She is currently working on her Google Apps Trainer Certification and has her certificate in Google Power Searching. Barbara enjoys doing professional development training in IIM, 21st Century Learning, and Google Apps and is a frequent presenter at local and state conferences.
